2012 Ohio Grass /Legume Seed Program

Native Warm Season Grasses (NWSG) vary by climatic region around the country. The grasses in Ohio PF mixes are well adapted for Ohio's soil types and precipitation. NWSG are just like trees, some do well in wet soils and some do better on high sandy soils. Same is true if you have a tree that is native to California, it may not fair to well in Ohio's climate, so be careful about which of the species and variety of grasses you choose. Ohio PF takes all the guess work on what grasses do the best.   If you live in another state, feel free to contact us and we will be able to find the information you need for your area. 

Through the ability to purchase seed on a statewide basis, PF is able to offer you grass and legume mixtures atrates that are very competitive. These mixtures are approved for CRP, CREP and buffer strip plantings in Ohio and are available to interested landowner at excellent prices.  Our seed is also testing to meet USDA and Ohio Department of Agriculture standards. Since 2001, Ohio PF has supplied seed to many landowners for CRP, CREP Buffer Strips and Winter Cover plantings.
